 Stripers

Striper trips are taken on Watts Bar, Fort Loudon, Tellico, and Melton Hill Lakes.

We will be fishing different locations according to the time of year and conditions.

Spring(March, April, May):  Spring can be the most exciting time of the year to fish for stripers. We will catch some of our biggest fish of the year in the spring. Big fish, big baits and shallow water is an awesome combination and can create some explosive topwater action. We will be pulling big live baits behind planer boards and casting large artificials.

Summer(June, July,August,September): During summer, stripers will hold in the coolest most oxygenated water they can find. We will be fishing in the tailrace below the dams during this period with live bait. Large numbers of fish can be produced. The average fish during summer is 8 to 20lbs.

Fall(October, November, early Decmber): Stripers migrate down river into the main lake. Fish move up shallow and feed heavily. We will be fishing with live bait using a variety of methods and casting artificial lures to feeding stripers. Fall is similar to spring and can produce some heart stopping topwater action.

Winter(December, January, February): During winter months stripers will congregate around the local steam plants. Winter time can produce some large stripers on big baits pulled behind planer boards and freelined. Small bucktail jigs can also produce fish also.

We specialize in live bait fishing all season and we will also be using a variety of artificial lures under certain conditions.
